During the Chicago Sky's Sept. 2 game against the Minnesota Lynx in Bradenton, Florida, Allie Quigley surpassed Sylvia Fowles for first on the Sky's all-time scoring list.
She also reached 3,000 career points in the fourth quarter ( and is currently at 3,002 ).
In other Sky-related news, Sky players have now donated $17,150 this season based on the team's 11 wins, seven losses and total number of points. The team's 83 points on Sept. 2 contributed $830, with an additional $50 for the loss. ( In late July, Sky players decided to donate $10 for every point team scored, $100 for every win, and $50 for any loss throughout the 2020 WNBA season under a newly unveiled social justice initiative called #SkyTakesAction. )
Despite the loss, the Sky qualified for the WNBA playoffs.
With the support of Sky owner Michael Alter, minority owner John Rogers, Bob Arthur and Susan Anderson of Magellan Corporation, that total is doubled to $34,300.
