On July 2, out singer/songwriter/animator Hailey Wojcik played an intimate show in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Schubas. Then on July 3 the Michigan-based artist screened some of her animation videos at the Annoyance Theater.
Wojcik, who has been nicknamed "The Wednesday Addams of her genre," played solo on guitar and with the aid of a computer console. Her set featured music from her recently released EP Book Of Beasts ( Wiener Records/Blood Bunny Records ) and included "Prosimian," "East Coast," "Dog vs. Man" and the single "XO, Skeleton." Wojcik has been featured on After Ellen, LOGO, MTV, Magnet and Girls Get Busy Zine while her animated video for "Dog vs. Man" has taken on a life of its own.
Also on the bill were local favorites Strawberry Jacuzzi, who played a set of all new material. Vocalist/guitarist Shannon Candy said that the group has set this autumn to release the CD.
