From the 1960s underground comix scene in San Francisco, to LGBT newspapers and magazines in the'80s and'90s, to webcomics in the new millennium, queer comics have sought to represent lesbian, gay, bi, and trans life in all of its myriad variationsto say I AM HERE in a world where we feel invisible.
Chicago cartoonist Tony Breed will walk through the history of queer comics in the U.S., celebrating this vibrant community of creators and pointing you to artists, books, and publishers you may not have known.
