I'd like to thank all of you that have signed up for the FREE eCourse on the Web site and a special thanks to those that have given me their honest feedback.
Now, having said that ... let's talk about what life has been like traveling on the spiritual journey for MY truth. Let me tell you that it hasn't been easy. It's been lonely at times, tough to swallow, painful, embarrassing, humbling and just downright mean. I have had to say goodbye to my ego; my relationships; my friendships; my distorted beliefs about life, love and the pursuit of happiness; yet while at the same time ... I wouldn't have it any other way.
Why have there been so many 'not-so-positive' things? When we decide to embark upon a journey for the TRUTH as it relates to OUR OWN spirit, initially we have to 'die' to our old selves. People, behavioral patterns, environments, jobs and relationships that are not in sync with what our true spirit would want all begin to disappear from our lives. Some automatically fall off and others with a bunch of drama attached to them.
The conversations we used to have before about other people's business, no longer appeal to us. Sitting for hours complaining about why are we alone; why we are stuck in the same rut; why isn't X into me like I am into them; putting our 2 cents in other people's situations when they didn't ask us for it, all under the guise of personality. The idea that we know what's best for others when in fact we don't even know what's best for ourselves is a true misconception.
As we begin to go inside to determine what it is we REALLY want out of life, we discover those hidden truths about ourselves that we didn't recognize before. The blinders are off. We are peeling back the layers of our personalities like an onion, uncovering how we have been deluding not only others but mainly ourselves with the persona that we have created. As we begin to become aware of this, we become 'different.' We think differently, we process differently, we react differently, and we seem different to those around us. Honestly speaking, though, we ARE different.
I'd like to borrow a term from my days in the Baptist Church, if you will—that being we are SAVED! Saved from the faulty programming of our minds. Saved from the fear of being found out for who we really are. Saved from continuing to pretend to be someone that we are not. Saved from the private hell that we have lived in until we really discovered and embraced our authentic selves. You can't HELP but be different after an experience like this.
