Proud to Run 2019which includes a half-marathon, 10K run and 5k run/walkwill take place Saturday, June 29, at Montrose Harbor, 600 W. Montrose Harbor Blvd.
The half-marathon will start at 7 a.m.; the 5K and 10K events will begin at 8 a.m.
This year's beneficiaries include About Face Theatre, Gender Cool Project, H.O.M.E. and the LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois. New for Proud to Run 2019, participants can help raise funds for the beneficiaries. People can set up their individual fundraising pages when they register for this year's race, and share it across social-media platforms. Participants who raise at least $100 will get a special thank you in the post-race program.
As of 2018, Proud to Run has donated nearly $600,000 to organizations.
Pricing through May 18 if $45-$50 each; participants 12-17 can register for half the admission price.
