Chicago, Illinois, Oct. 3, 2013-LGBT legally married couples now enjoy federally recognized rights and benefits; but much confusion and uncertainly still exists in understanding the impact to you on this changing landscape. Join us Nov. 9 for a Retirement and Estate Planning seminar, sponsored by Della Monica & Associates with Ameriprise Financial. We will help identify what couples need to know regarding taxation, marriage, retirement plans, government benefits, insurance coverage as well as the estate planning essentials all couples should have in place.
"Although DOMA is repealed and we are thrilled to watch the federal government quickly implement the new law, there are still many questions on the federal benefits now being offered to same-sex legally married couples that can significantly impact their retirement projections", says Private Wealth Advisor, Joseph Della Monica of Ameriprise Financial Services. "Should we get married?" and "Should we file joint taxes?" are questions being asked right now, and helping educate our community to the changing landscape is a core focus for our practice", says Della Monica.
AGENDA for the November 9th "Retirement Post-DOMA: What You Need to Know!" seminar:
- Understand the new benefits for LGBT Americans: legal, tax and financial.
- What are the financial pros and cons of marriage?
- Estate planning and tax implications: What you need to know?
- Retirement planning issues: What remains the same and what has changed?
- Learn how to recreate your paycheck in retirement and to identify risks to your financial future.
