Planned Parenthood of Illinois hosted its annual Generations Gala May 2 at Navy Pier.
Women's healthcare supporters honored the contributions of several generations of leaders who have expanded and protected reproductive rights and access to reproductive healthcare.
Sandra Flukean activist who came to national attention in February 2012 when an all-male Congressional committee prohibited her from testifying on the need for comprehensive contraceptive coveragereceived the Margaret Wiley Carr Bright Horizons Award. In addition, Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards and Illinois state Sen. Heather Steans spoke.
