PETA'S COOKBOOK INCLUDES RECIPES OF THE FAMOUS
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has gathered all the fun and delicious recipes from the group's ever-expanding list of celebrity friends into one beautifully illustrated, full-color, glossy cookbook that makes the perfect gift of encouragement for the foodie with a new year's resolution to eat healthier.
The PETA Celebrity Cookbook: Delicious Vegetarian Recipes From Your Favorite Stars (Lantern Books), compiled by PETA president and founder Ingrid Newkirk, features more than 60 singers, actors, athletes, chefs and activists who not only offer their favorite vegan recipes but also their very personal thoughts about healthy, humane eating habits.
The book, which includes an introduction by James Cromwell—who stopped eating meat after he starred in the acclaimed movie Babe—features recipes from hip hop mogul Russell Simmons, action-movie idol Jackie Chan, tennis great Martina Navratilova, Elizabeth Berkley, Bea Arthur, Corey Feldman, Nina Hagen, Chrissie Hynde, Twiggy Lawson, Cassandra 'Elvira' Peterson, the B-52s, Alicia Silverstone, William Shatner, Tiffani Thiessen (who just had some passionate kisses with a girl co-star on her Fastlane series), Wendy Malick, Fiona Apple, Christina Applegate, Alec Baldwin, Candice Bergen, Belinda Carlisle, and many more.
'If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian,' writes longtime PETA pal Sir Paul McCartney.
