Nasario B. Rodriguez, RN, BSN, MS passed away Nov. 7, 2012 at the age of 52.

He was a graduate of Lane Tech High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Public Service and Health Care Administration at DePaul University. He served his residency at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago before continuing his career at St. Elizabeth Hospital where he served as Director of Nursing / Critical Care in the ICU Oncology Dept. and was a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. He also worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a Nurse Manager in Oncology Services.

Rodriguez was a speaker at a variety of seminars and was featured in a hospital publication for his outstanding service in patient care. He held certifications in ACLS and BLS and was a member of AACN, ONS and CCONS (Chicago). Nasario recently retired from nursing to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an author.

Although he fought a good fight, his life was shortened by illness, leaving him unable to complete that goal. Nasario was a gift to a wonderful legacy of family and friends and will be greatly missed. He will be remembered for his sincerity, strength, enormous heart, kindness, laughter, love of literature and music and great achievements. His contributions and unconditional love he gave all made a difference in every life he touched. Nasario was the beloved life partner of Jerry Mash; dearest father of Julie, Stephanie and Natalie Mash; devoted son of the late Consuelo B. Campos; loving brother of Elena (Charles) Crundwell, Alonzo (Julie) Campos, Juan Carlos (Georgine) Campos and Lorena (Jose Justino) Leano; cherished uncle of Daniel and Renaldo Ortiz, Esiah, Eliahs, Adam, Christina, Alonzo Jr., Jessie, Daniel, Ryan and Anthony Campos and Jonathan and Justin Leano; fond nephew and cousin of many. Visitation Sunday, 4 — 9 p.m. at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago.

Funeral Mass Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church on the Lake, 7100 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago.

Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 225 North Michigan Avenue #1210, Chicago, IL 60601. Share a tribute at www.drakeandsonfuneralhome.com . Info., 773-561-6874.
