Gregory Allan De Leon, R.N., M.S.N, nurse practitioner; of Chicago; fought for social justice as a Freedom Rider in the 1960's and as an AIDS and gay rights activist; founder of the first 4A group ( Alcoholics Anonymous AIDS Awareness ), co-founder of Howard Brown's first offsite HIV clinic, Former Head of Programs and board member at TPA Network.
Survived by brother Mark Standard of New Mexico and sister Jeanine Standard of Canton, IL and her many friends who loved her dearly.
Born into strife, surviving depression, recession, and hostile aggression. By means of a Higher Power who provided direction, she lived an extremely fulfilling life on this plateau. She was accepted into the next level on January 13, 2016.
A springtime celebration of life is being planned at the Twelve Step House, 4454 N. Damen Ave., Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, Ms. De Leon requests that those whose life she may have touched respond by reaching out to perform a mitzvah for another human being.
