Bobby Glaze


Bobby Glaze, dear friend and tireless volunteer, passed away suddenly on Jan. 8, 2013. Bobby was born Feb. 5, 1954 in North Carolina. He was a bartender in Atlanta, and for many years at The Baton Lounge, followed by a hospitality career with a major catering company. More recently Bobby gave back to the community through volunteering with various organizations including SAGE at the Center on Halsted and his church, aChurch4Me MCC.

He is preceded in death by partner Jessie Dugan of Chicago, IL, his parents Joe Glaze and Francis Louise Pitchford Glaze of Mooresville, NC. His is survived by his siblings, David, Joe Jr., Nicky, and Dale, along with many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends who miss him deeply.

A memorial service of gratitude and celebration of Bobby Glaze's life will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013, 1 pm, at a Church4Me?MCC, 1545 W. Morse Ave, Overdier Hall. All are invited to attend to celebrate and honor Bobby's life of triumph and spirit of giving to others. In the spirit of giving in which Bobby led his life, and in lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the memorial service and distributed among a multiple non-profit organizations that Bobby supported in life
