( San Francisco, CA ) —Out & Equal Workplace Advocates is thrilled to announce Erin Uritus, longtime executive with experience in corporate, non-profit and government sectors, as the new Chief Executive Officer of the world's premier nonprofit dedicated to achieving global LGBTQ workplace equality.

Board Chair and Comcast Senior Vice President Michael Cox said, "Erin joins Out & Equal with unparalleled domestic and international experience as an executive in the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors — a critically important combination to us at Out & Equal. Her visionary leadership will bring the organization and the entire movement to further workplace equality for the LGBTQ community. As the Chair of the Board of Directors and representing a major sponsor of the organization, I have full confidence Erin will lead all of us to a future where our country's largest companies and governments around the world embrace diversity, prioritize inclusion, and enact equality."

Erin began her tenure as the leader of the world's largest LGBTQ professional organization on January 15th. Along with over 60% of Out & Equal's partners including the federal government who the organization works closely with, she will be based in Washington, DC.

"Out & Equal has always been about the power of 'and'— Diversity 'and' Inclusion, LGBTQ 'and' Allies, Domestic 'and' Global, Out 'and' Equal. As we look to the future, I am fervently committed to leveraging the spirit of 'and' and driving Out & Equal to be the transformational force needed to create global LGBTQ workplace equality," said Erin Uritus. She continues, "I am deeply honored to have been chosen as the next CEO, and I'm eager to get down to the important work of ensuring everyone — no matter who you love or how you identify- finds inclusion, belonging, and equality at work. Now more than ever, we need to work together to hold back those forces that would see these principles and protections denied, and be a voice for equality and inclusion in these challenging political times."

Prior to joining Out & Equal, Erin was a senior leader at consulting leader Booz Allen and the education powerhouse nonprofit International School Services ( ISS ). Erin has worked internationally, including nine years in the Middle East where she supported efforts to modernize government in the midst of the Arab Spring. Erin's full bio can be found here.

Out & Equal Founder Selisse Berry said, "I am overjoyed that Erin will be the next CEO of Out & Equal. I've known Erin for over a decade when she first joined our Board of Directors in 2005, and have been lucky to call her a friend since then. The future of the organization is in the right hands with such an exceptional leader, and I believe she will work tirelessly to create a world where no one has to choose between the career they love and the person they love. She has my congratulations, my partnership, my trust, and my excitement as she takes the first steps in this vital work."
