Are you a family member of a transgender person? Do you want to be supportive but sometimes have a hard time understanding?
An online seminar for families of transgender individuals, planned for May 3, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m., is designed to strengthen family relationships with transgender children, teens, or adults.
Presenter Nikk Selik is a transgender man, public speaker on transgender identity, a volunteer mentor for trans youth at Lurie Children's Hospital, and the founder of the organization, T-MAC: Transmasculine Alliance Chicago.
This seminar will consist of a workshop followed by a Q & A session. The workshop will provide a basic knowledge of concepts related to transgender identity, explain terminology and offer tools for navigating challenges that may arise. Additionally, there will be a portion the focuses especially on issues for parents of transgender youth.
The Zoom meeting link will be sent upon registration. The event is free but donations are suggested.
