Through Dec. 9, the One of a Kind Holiday Show is returning to the seventh floor of The Mart, 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza.
More than 600 independent artists from across North America and beyond are offering unique and eclectic offerings for purchase, including bath and body items, jewelry, artwork, gourmet goods and more.
A few of the interesting vendors include:
House of Wolves ( www.houseofwolves.com/shop ): Seattle-based designer Shanine Yngvason boasts some eye-catching totes with authentic cowhide, but there are also cool accesories, like pouches, wallets and bracelets.
Beautifully Served by Jill ( www.beautifullyservedbyjill.com/ ): Based in Colorado, this vendor specializes in copper/stainless-steel bowls and servewareand they're all gorgeous.
Jack Cave Design ( www.facebook.com/JackCaveDesign/ ): There are many traditional women's clothes and accessories at the showbut local vendor/artist Jack Cave has some pretty cool neckwear ( and more ) for guys as well.
J. Sheffner ( andechicago.com ): Exhorting people to "run away from what's comfortable," Sheffner has beautiful and unconventional jewelry featuring gems that pop.
Logan ( LoganStyle.com ): Describing its style as "eco-chic," Chicago Heights-based Logan features hats and accessories made from vintage fabrics, global idea and upcycled material.
{blade + bloom} ( bladeandbloom.com ): Also based in Chicago Heights, {blade + bloom} is an apothecary with some of the best-smelling itemsand even convinced this writer to buy a $10 lip balm that smells like a Dreamsicle.
JCR ( www.jcrwork.com/ ): Artist Julio Carreon-Reyes definitely provides something different at this show. Appealing to those interested in science ( especially biology ), Carreon-Reyes has assembly art featuring all types of animals, from bats to dinosaurs.
Lucky Skye Graphics ( luckyskyegraphics.com ): Lucky Skye Graphics creates uncommon art prints and art objects inspired by literature, science, music and pop culture.
Cheryl Eve Acosta ( CherylEve.com ): Several of the jewelry vendors boast impressive, unique collections. Acosta's distinctive pieces are known for featuring fused glass enamel on copper and silver with textured edgesand some of the bewitching jewelry is practically Gaga-esque.
Bottega Flaviani ( BottegaFlaviani.com ): Involving leatherwork in its purest form, this business' adorably handmade items range from stylish totes and belts towait for itpoo-bag dispensers.
