Laughtonwho made history as the nation's first transgender elected officialinitially decided to step down after news of her criminal record became public. However, she has now said, "I'm reconsidering and I'm seeking the advice of professionals and through social media."
Laughton initially decided to leave office after it was revealed that she had served four months in Belknap County House of Corrections following a 2008 credit card fraud conviction, the Huffington Post reported.
