EXTRAFUSIÃ"N

Pues llego septiembre y como buen mexicano ya preparo la garganta para echar el grito al estilo Chente Fernández, con mi caguama de un lado y mi bandera del otro. Y replicaran ustedes, '¡¡Y a mi que!! ¡¡Que no se supone que ésta es una revista gay!!' o tal vez dirán: 'y que me importa si ni mexicano soy' bueno, bueno, no se alebresten, para los que pensaban que ser gay significaba ir a bares, antros, el gimnasio, tomar, bailar, perder tiempo en la computadora, chatear, salir de compras, vestirte In, respirar y liiiigaaaaar, pues les informo que efectivamente tienen toda la razón, ya para que contradecir, de eso se ha vuelto la cosa, pero en medio del borlote en que vivimos, lo político y social juegan también un papel importante.

En algunas partes del mundo aún se ahorcan a homosexuales o se les mata a pedradas enterrados hasta el cuello, aquí en Estados Unidos nos damos el lujo de tener un fin de semana que llamamos Market Days, de contar con un espacio como Boys Town o también de sentirnos respaldados por organizaciones que abogan por nosotros.

Mientras nuestra vida transcurre podemos tal vez tener amigos straight con quien convivimos pero que tal vez en el fondo aún nos miran como los otros, como raro o como un objeto de colección que vale la pena conservar. Salimos del clóset ante nuestros padres pero seguimos siendo el hijo que no encaja, y no se digan los hermanos, que con todo su esfuerzo por aceptar nuestras diferencias pueden aún sentirse incomodos. Nuestra religión rechaza nuestra vida abierta, nuestros políticos nos hacen muecas y como limosna les pedimos que reconozcan derechos vitales que nos pertenecen.

Vale la pena preguntarnos que tanto hemos logrado como comunidad, como nos segregamos en vez de unificarnos a una sociedad que avanza y que todavía nos tiene a un lado. Y no es que este hoy de pesimista, al contrario, se trata de una nueva forma de análisis que puede traer nuevas ideas:

Más concretamente quiero comunicarles sobre un evento que pretende voltear la mirada hacia otros horizontes. Lo realizas tú y también nosotros, los GLBTA de chicago estamos planeando una fiesta a la que queremos invitarte, la hemos bautizado con el nombre de 'Extrafusión' y pretende apoyar no solo a una organización sino a otro país, en este caso y por la conmemoración de su independencia, México, en donde existe un movimiento llamado Red de la Sociedad Civil que involucra y trabaja por cualquiera que pueda sentirse vulnerado por su situación de genero, raza, condición social o económica; es una organización que combate la guerra, la violencia y el neoliberalismo con acciones pacificas como danza, reventones o manifestaciones de arte, a ellos quisiéramos unirnos y decirles que las personas con otra orientación sexual deseamos también ser parte de un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos.

Y como en el mundo actual en que vivimos lo económico juega un papel importante, pues queremos juntos echarles una mano y por ello se organizó esta fiesta de la que ahora te hablo, 'Extrafusión': una bienvenida al otoño, significa unidad superior, generosidad, significa música, baile, diversión, romance, amor y sobre todo, libertad para todos:
