'Moonlight' gets SAG nominations; Tomlin to be honored

Nominations for the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild ( SAG ) Awards were announced Dec. 14 at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.

Among other things, Lily Tomlin will receive a lifetime achievement award.

Again, LGBT film Moonlight has received multiple nominations, following its several Golden Globe nods. Moonlight has received noms for Best Ensemble, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role ( Mahershala Ali ) and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role ( Naomie Harris ).

Out actress Sarah Paulson was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for portraying Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Her competitors include Bryce Dallas Howard ( Black Mirror ), Felicity Huffman ( American Crime Story ), Audra MccDonald ( Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill ) and Kerry Washington ( Confirmation ).

Other actors of note who received nods include Kevin Spacey, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series ( for portraying bisexual president in House of Cards ); Jeffrey Tambor, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series ( for Transparent ); and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series nominees Uzo Aduba ( Orange Is the New Black ) and Tomlin ( Grace and Frankie ).

Modern Family received a nod for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

The SAG Awards will air Jan. 29 on TNT and TBS.
