Monica Raymund of Chicago Fire presents Clandestina Queer Women's Dance
From a press release

Chicago, IL - January 20, 2015 - Monica Raymund's newest project isn't one that's on screen or stage.

The Chicago Fire star has lived and worked in Chicago now for 4 years and took this chance to contribute to the community. She joined forces with New York transplant Brooke Webster, who famously owned and operated Meow Mix in the East Village of Manhattan. Longtime Chicagoan & nightlife purveyor Alma Izquierdo joined the ranks and a party was born.

Clandestina is a monthly pop-up party that invites queer women, allies, and friends to get together for crafted cocktails, good eats, and an ever revolving cast of DJs. Raymund has even thrown her headphones into the ring, and typically DJs a set during each event. She's not always behind the booth, though; you'll definitely find her on the dance floor too. Other DJs include DJ BK WEB, DJ AudioJack, and DJ All the way Kay.

The big news is the upcoming Valentine's Day Event & Benefit: A 90's Love Affair. Featuring a live performance by 90s Hip-Hop star Monie Love and other 90s-themed performances, this benefit is Clandestina's first foray into charity work. All proceeds from the event are being donated to Project Fierce, an organization dedicated to housing for young members of the queer community who are homeless.

The Valentine's Day event will be held at The Promontory in Hyde Park. Tickets are $20 and the party kicks off with an hour-long open bar from 8pm-9pm featuring Reyka Vodka, Hendricks Gin, Milagro Tequila, and Monkey Shoulder Scotch. The Hyatt Hotel has also joined the party as a corporate sponsor. Raffle tickets for high ticket prizes will be available as well, again with all proceeds going towards Project Fierce. See more on Project Fierce at the link: projectfiercechicago.org/ .
