"Whether you are an elder or are caring for a parent, loved one, spouse or friend, you are bound to face transitions and may benefit from others going through similar situations. The Center offers the Elders in Transition support group to meet those needs," says Center Executive Director Colleen Carpenter.

Have you recently ended a relationship? Taken on the care of an elderly partner or parent? Are you leaving a long-time home? Big life disruptions and transitions are never easy, and they can pose even more challenges when they happen later in our lives. Join us for a semi-monthly support group to discuss how to navigate change - even the changes we say we want! Beginning Wednesday, February 26 at 5:30; Every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays thereafter.

Sarah Liebert, our SAGE Support Group Facilitator & Intern

Milwaukee LGBT Community Center programs include: LGBT counseling and anti-violence programs, healthy relationships classes, personal financial counseling and coaching, TGIF, an art gallery, The Jack Smith Library with over 2,400 LGBT+ books, a David Bohnett Cyber Center and meeting spaces for more than 50 local organizations. The Center offers numerous support groups on topics like coming out, elders in transition, sexuality and gender identity. In addition, the Center sponsors networking meetings and activities for all ages including our Project Q Youth Services and SAGE Milwaukee for LGBT+ elders and allies. Social events for all ages range from youth dances, Women's Out to Brunch, TGIF gatherings and more.

Numerous community partners are located at the Center, including Milwaukee PrideFest, FORGE, PFLAG Milwaukee, Lesbian Alliance, and Wisconsin Rainbow Alliance for the Deaf.
