CHICAGO ( December 5, 2011 ) To help Chicago-area residents and visitors ring in the New Year safely, Miller Lite, in partnership with Chicago Beverage Systems, will offer a free shuttle bus service throughout the city on New Year's Eve. Now in its third year in Chicago, Miller Lite Free Rides™ serves as a timely reminder for people to plan ahead for a safe ride and never drive drunk.
"The holidays are a time for tradition and celebration, and we hope that people who choose to celebrate the New Year with our great beers will also choose to be responsible and plan ahead for a safe ride home," said Diane Wagner, alcohol responsibility manager for MillerCoors. "Drunk driving is completely preventable, and we encourage residents and visitors to make a tradition of responsibility with the help of Miller Lite Free Rides."
With expanded service in the South Loop this year, Miller Lite Free Rides will travel on two looped routes with stops in the Loop, South Loop, River North, Old Town, Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville, including busy "El" stations, Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station, and popular bars and restaurants.
Route and schedule information is available by calling 1-800-FREE-RIDES ( 1-800-373-3743 ) , by texting "RIDE" to 90464 or by visiting www.MillerLiteFreeRides.com .
