Michael Feinstein brought his ivory-tickling fingers to River Forest March 10 for a performance at the Dominican University. The benefit raised money in support of student scholarships and was held at the Lund Auditorium. Of course, he brought his popular songbook with him, beginning with Irving Berlin. The openly gay singer stated, "If you don't know who Sinatra and Judy are then you are in the wrong place!"

Nicole Cabell opened the show with a haunting operatic voice that was a perfect match to Feinstein because of her recent Ravinia All-Gershwin concert.

Yes, Feinstein brought all of the classic composers, such as George and Ira Gershwin, to the table and even joked about meeting some of the older ones.

The night finished with a reception and dinner with attendees. Visit www.michaelfeinstein.com for more on Michael; information about the school can be found at www.dom.edu/pac. Text and photos by Jerry Nunn
