CHICAGO, Ill. Megon McDonough, a nationally known singer with roots in folk, jazz, pop and country, will be bringing her hit one-woman show, "Her Way: An Interesting Bunch of Gals" to the Skokie Theatre on July 19 at 8 p.m.
The show honors some of the most powerful and prolific female singers of the last 60 years and features tributes to Cher, Dusty Springfield, Billie Holiday, Doris Day, Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Petula Clark, Ella Fitzgerald, Lulu, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin.
Audiences will be amazed by McDonough's uncanny ability to evoke the essence of each of these memorable singers, while masterfully blending her wittiness and snappy patter with jazz, pop, country, folk and rock for an entertainment experience you'll never forget.
McDonough, who is best known for her work as an inaugural member of the comedic folk group The Four Bitchin' Babes, has been performing for more than 30 years, and says she owes much of her success to the women she honors in the show.
"These are the singers who really inspired me, growing up. I love imitating them and being them," McDonough says. "They paved the way for all female singers who came after them, and I know I wouldn't be here today without their influence."

About Megon McDonough
Born in Crystal Lake, Ill., to an Irish-Catholic family with nine children, Megon McDonough was inspired to play the guitar and sing after watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. She wrote her first song at the age of 11.
By the age of 18, she was opening for such folk acts as John Denver, Steve Martin and Harry Chapin. She has performed on stages as diverse as Carnegie Hall and the Cellar Door. Megon is best known for her work as an inaugural member of the folk group The Four Bitchin' Babes, which allowed her wit and folk sensibilities to comment on the ups and downs of everyday life. To date, Megon has 12 solo albums to her credit, and is best known for her song "Amazing Things." Megon classifies her music as folk/cabaret, citing her love of theater and jazz as the reason for the unusual mix. Megon lives in Evanston, Ill., and was most recently seen in "Prine: A Tribute Concert" at the Viaduct Theater in Chicago.
