CHICAGO — Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot today announced a fifth and final Budget Town Hall to be held Wednesday, October 2 from 6-8 pm at South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive.

"These budget town halls have given my entire administration an opportunity to hear the voices of Chicagoans and gain a greater perspective on what is important to them and their communities, and it is important that we keep listening," said Mayor Lightfoot. "This city is filled with intelligent, resourceful, and passionate individuals who have great ideas and innovative solutions that will inform how we face these financial challenges together. And it is only together with residents, departments, community leaders, and other stakeholders that we will strengthen our government and our neighborhoods for the long term."

This final townhall will complete a series of meetings held across the City where residents openly communicate key considerations for next year's budget. Details for the upcoming Budget Town Halls include:

Southeast - Thursday, September 19 from 6-8 p.m.

George Washington High School, 3535 E. 114th Street

South ( Youth ) — Wednesday, September 25 from 6-8 p.m.

Lindblom Math and Science Academy, 6130 S Wolcott Ave.

South — Wednesday, October 2 from 6-8 p.m.

South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive.

Budget Townhall Meetings were also held at the Copernicus Center on the North Side and Roberto Clemente High School on the West Side.

To give the Budget Town Hall meetings a framework of the topics residents want to discuss or learn more about, the City launched a public survey which is available at www.chicago.gov/2020budget through September 30th. The survey serves as a tool for the administration to ascertain which priorities are important to residents and survey residents on topics ranging from public safety and infrastructure; to neighborhood services and public health.

For updates and details on the budget town halls, please visit www.chicago.gov and follow the City on Facebook and Twitter.
