rNominations for this year's Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame are now being accepted.
If you know someone who meets the criteria below and think that they would be a good addition to the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame, complete and submit the nomination form that can be found at this link by July 15 for consideration.
Criteria are as follows: Induction into the Hall of Fame symbolizes that the recipient has made either:
( 1 ) a single, far-eaching contribution or
( 2 ) significant long-term contributions to the quality of life of Chicago's LGBT community or of the city of Chicago.
The Hall of Fame also recognizes "friends of the community" and LGBT organizations ( including businesses ) that have made similar contributions to Chicago's LGBT communities.

Creating Change 2016 in Chicago
The National LGBTQ Task Force has announced that the 28th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change ( "Creating Change" ) will take place Jan. 20-24, 2016 at the Hilton Chicago.
Close to 5,000 LGBTQ community leaders and activists from across the country are expected to attend the conference.
The National LGBTQ Task Force will be hosting an informational meeting for local LGBTQ community leaders about how to join the conference host committee. The meeting will take place Wed., March 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Chicago Urban League, 4510 S. Michigan Ave. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by emailing creatingchange@thetaskforce.org .

B Chambers names scholarship recipients
The B Chambers Scholarship Committee, in association with the National Association of Black and White Men Together ( NABWMT ), has announced three awardees.
This year's recipientsDanielle Cooper, Raymond Jackson and Kareem Williswill each receive a $1,500 scholarship and will be honored at the 35th Annual NABWMT Convention in Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. P. Sean Shumaker, a former Chicagoan, created the fund to acknowledge and encourage outstanding LGBTQ students making significant contributions in their communities while maintaining their academics.
