"Let Freedom Ring, Chicago" Jan. 21 at City Winery

"Let Freedom Ring, Chicago" a musical tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place Monday, Jan. 21 at City Winery.

The concert, featuring Lynne Jordan, Jeannie Tanner, Cynthia Clarey, Tecora Rogers, Isiah Mitchell, Frieda Lee, Sophie Grimm, LaShera Moore, Greta Pope, Margaret Murphy Webb, and the Gorham UMC Inspirational Choir, is presented by Daryl Nitz Entertainment, and hosted by Daryl Nitz. Musical direction is by Mark Burnell with Chuck Webb ( bass ) and Charles Heath ( drums ). Tickets $25-$40.

The concert features a new song by Tanner called "I Wanna Be the Change." performed by Tanner, LaShera Moore, Sophie Grimm, and the cast.

The group is seeking photos by Friday, Jan. 18 to include in a video project being created around the new song. A 30 second video at youtu.be/hZeOez3JWgg serves as an example. Photos can be selfies with family, friends, dogs, cats or alone holding a sign: I AM THE CHANGE, or I WANNA BE THE CHANGE... WE ARE THE CHANGE... etc. Photos will run as a slide show at City Winery.
