The longest-running showcase for Iranian cinema in North America, the 27th Annual Festival of Films from Iran ( February 4-25 ) premieres new work from one the world's most celebrated and awarded national cinemas. Spring film/lecture series New Sensory Cinema ( January 27-May 9 ) explores 14 films in which the body acts as a territory of desire, a vessel of transformation, a site of return, and a mode of resistance to cinematic capture. The drama Loving ( February 17-23 ) recounts a pivotal civil rights case concerning the story of Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter, the interracial Virginia couple who married in 1958, and, after a nine-year struggle, took their legal battle all the way to the Supreme Court.
Below Her Mouth ( February 10, 13, 15 ) is the explicitly erotic lesbian love story made entirely by and especially for women in which fashion editor Jasmine has a wedding date looming until a fateful meeting with the slim, confident Dallas.
