Lesbian Singer-Songwriter-Parking Lot Attendant Jamie Anderson coming to Rockford, Downers Grove
2011-03-30

facebook twitter google +1 reddit email

Jamie Anderson has toured nationally for more than 20 years including many headlining appearances at the National Women's Music Festival. On April 15, 8pm, she'll be appearing at Two Way Street Coffeehouse, 1047 Curtiss St, www.twowaystreet.org . On Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 pm, she'll be at Charlotte's Web at Just Goods Listening Room, 201 7th St, with fiddler player Tracy Feldman, www.charlotteswebrockford.org .

Jamie's a confused folk singer who doesn't settle in just one genre. She's country without the big hair, bluegrass without the whiney tenor and blues without selling her soul. She'll show you why it's never a good idea to dump a songwriter in "Her Problem Now" and who her greatest musical inspiration is in "My Dad Loves to Sing." "Public Radio" is about the place where a 53 year old can get serious airplay, whether or not she looks good in tight pants. "Grace" is a story about two girls falling in love at church camp. Hallelujah. Jamie has nine recordings including the recently released Better Than Chocolate.
