The Legacy Project will kick off Pride Month on Wed., June 5, 7-8 p.m., at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St., with Stonewall veteran Tree Sequoia.

According to an organizational press release, Sequoia has been tending bar at the Stonewall Inn for 50 years—and the third night of this job was when the famous uprising happened at this bar.

Sequoia will sit with Chicago historian and Legacy Project co-founder Owen Keehnen about June 28, 1969 and about the role our bars have played in the history of the LGBTQ-rights movement.

The program will conclude with a Q&A.
