Latina Lesbian Comic Reno in Town

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents RENO: REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE, the controversial Latina-lesbian's one-woman show, Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Reno will be in town for a live show at Hothouse on Nov. 29. Siskel Film Center is also showing VENUS BOYZ, all about the drag king phenomenon, concurrent with the RENO screenings.

The Gene Siskel Film Center is located at 164 N. State St., 312-846-2800 or Ticketmaster, 312-575-8000,, .

Subtitled "Unrestrained Reflections on September 11th," Reno's hilarious, too-controversial-for-cable performance film captures her rapid-fire response to the WTC attacks, which occurred a few blocks from her apartment and inspired this legendary one-woman show that debuted at the East Village's La MaMa a mere three weeks later.

The dynamic Latina-lesbian comic vividly and irreverently recreates the emotional tumult of that morning, assesses its effects on her own identity as an American, and launches into a scathingly funny assault on George W.
