CHICAGO, FEBRUARY 16, 2015 — With swing and sass, Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles presents its third annual benefit, "Champagne Showcase: A Night in the Jazz Age," at Center on Halsted ( 3656 N. Halsted ) on Saturday, March 7, at 7:00 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to come out in their best dapper wear and flapper attire to celebrate a bygone era of dimly-lit Chicago jazz clubs and freewheeling decadence. The event will feature music by shhh...OUT! Lakeside Pride Jazz Ensemble, the "Strayhorns" jazz combo, guest vocalists, burlesque by Vaudezilla, and other entertainment.
The evening includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres and Champagne Toast, a cash bar featuring Prohibition Cocktails, and the opportunity to win fabulous raffle prizes and live-auction items including hotel stays, gift baskets and a deluxe pet portrait package.
All proceeds benefit Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles, Chicago's premier family of LGBT instrumental ensembles celebrating Music, Visibility, and Pride.
Tickets are $35 in advance, available online at LakesidePride.org, or $40 at the door starting 30 minutes before the event. The venue is conveniently located near the CTA Red Line ( Addison ) as well as several bus routes, including 8-Halsted and 36-Broadway.
