On April 2, at 5:45 p.m., the intersection of North Halsted and West Aldine streets will be renamed "Yoshi Katsumura Way."
Chef-proprietor Katsumura and his wife, Nobuko, have been creating and serving meals at Yoshi's Café, 3257 N. Halsted St., for nearly 32 years.
Ald. Tom Tunney, who sponsored the City Council ordinance designating Yoshi Katsumura Way, will preside over the renaming ceremony. The new street sign will be installed a day or so prior to the April 2 unveiling. The Katsumuras will be presented with a replica of the sign at the event. |
