About Forte Chicago
Forte Chicago is a company of directors, puppeteers, designers, and classically trained musicians. We are curious about the place of the modern female in the world of classical music and seek to give the female classically trained artist new freedom inside old forms. As we explore the relationship between Improvisation and Opera our mission is to devise and create new work, support and perform existing material by female composers, and bring new and accessible operatic works to audiences. Forte Chicago is also passionate about providing training for female artists and invests time in exploring our boundaries as an ensemble in order to find the particular "forte" of each individual artist.
