Washington, DC — Dozens of LGBTQ elected officials, celebrities and leaders will join LGBTQ Victory Institute for its "Voices of Victory: Our Convention Celebration" this Thursday at 7:30pm ET on Facebook Live. The event — an official partner event of the Democratic National Convention — will celebrate LGBTQ political power and the contributions of LGBTQ elected officials and leaders during these unprecedented times.
"Voices of Victory" will feature Pete Buttigieg, performances by Melissa Etheridge and Billy Porter, as well as special guests Matt Bomer and Peppermint. Dozens of LGBTQ elected officials will also make appearances, including US Senator Tammy Baldwin, Governors Kate Brown and Jared Polis, US Representatives Sharice Davids, Chris Pappas and Mark Takano, Attorneys General Maura Healey and Dana Nessel, and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, among many others. A complete list of guests is available online.
Registration for the event is free, but contributions will benefit Victory Institute's Presidential Appointments Initiative — which aims to ensure the next administration includes more LGBTQ political appointees than ever before.
