King to speak atNU on June 16

Advocate/sports icon Billie Jean King will deliver this year's commencement address at Northwestern University on Friday, June 16.

King was ranked six times as the year's number one women's tennis player and won 39 Grand Slam singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles, including a record 20 championships at Wimbledon. She is the founder of the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative, the Women's Tennis Association and the Women's Sports Foundation, and she is the co-founder of World TeamTennis.

Northwestern's 159th commencement ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Ryan Field on the Evanston campus.
