On the Tuesday Jan. 22 episode of Katie, titled 'Moving Forward After The Unthinkable,' Katie Couric sits down with families who have endured indescribable tragedy, and have summoned the strength to forgive.

Judy Shepard will appear as Katie's guest, discussing her son Matthew's heinous murder in 1998, which became a watershed historical moment in America. Judy also reveals how she helped change the views of a homophobic lead investigator assigned to the case, and how she is carrying on Matthew's legacy today.
