The 30th anniversary of the annual global convention of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) will take place in Chicago May 2-4.

Among the events slated are breakout sessions, an opening party (at the Field Museum), networking luncheons and an awards ceremony. Breakouts will include "Gay Travel/Gay Rights: A 30 Year History/A Bright Future" and "Marking your territory in the LGBT Travel Industry," among many others.

The honors presentation will take place May 4.

The annual awards are selected by the IGLTA board of directors from the association's membership of tourism businesses in more than 80 countries. Honorees will include Charles Lapointe, president/CEO of Tourisme Montreal; Thomas Roth, president/founder of Community Marketing, Inc.; Chicago's Center on Halsted; Dee Farrell, co-director of Rainbow Tourism International; and Manuela Kay, CEO of Special Media SDL, Germany's biggest LGBT-publishing house, and chief editor of its lesbian title, L-MAG.

See www.igltaconvention.org for more information.
