Historic Croatia ruling allows same-sex foster parenting

In a historic development, a court in Croatia ruled that a same-sex married couple—in this case, Ivo Segota and Mladen Kozic—can be foster parents, Total Croatia News reported.

In addition, the Zagreb Administrative Court mandated that the ministry of development, which rejected the couple's request to provide foster care last year, must implement the new decision within 60 days—this time, in accordance with domestic and international law.

Sanja Bezbradica Jelavic, who represented the couple, said, "The court's decision is binding, and an appeal is not allowed, so this judgment is final."
