The Human Rights Campaign ( HRC ) Foundation released "Celebrating Everyday Change-Makers in Child Welfare"a first-of-its-kind report highlighting more than 70 child-welfare agencies across the country that partnered with the HRC Foundation's All Children-All Families ( ACAF ) project to improve the services they provide to the LGBTQ community, including children in foster care and prospective foster and adoptive parents, a press release noted.
These organizations serve more than 350,000 clients annually in 23 states, and employ nearly 11,000.
Among other things, the report covers the reasons for LGBTQ inclusion as well as benchmarks in diversity/inclusion.
There are three tiers of recognition used for agencies in "Change-Makers:" Building Foundation for Inclusion, Solid Foundation for Inclusion and Innovative Inclusion.
Children's Home & Aid ( Chicago ) is in the Building Foundation sector, while Little City Foundation ( Chicago ) is on the Solid Foundation list and Lutheran Child & Family Services of Illinois ( River Forest ) qualifies for the Innovative Inclusion list.
