Seton Hall University's Derrick Gordon became the first openly gay person in the annual NCAA Division I basketball tournament, Newsy.com reported.
Gordon was a 24-year-old guard for the Pirates, which made its first appearance in the tournament in a decade. The Pirates lost to Gonzaga 68-52 in a March 17 game played in Denver.
This is actually Gordon's third NCAA tourney ( having previously attended the University of Massachusetts and Western Kentucky University )but his first since he announced he's gay.
