Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama 2014 hit the Harris Theater for Music and Dance on Aug. 8.
The annual Ronald McDonald House fundraiser came complete with performer Jason Derulo, Macy's iHeart Radio Rising Star contest winner boy band Before You Exit, and a runway show.
Macy's made it snow indoors for the winter collection at the start of the show. Even though it was 80 degrees outside, it was time to start thinking about sweater weather.
Some of the fashion brands highlighted included INC International Concepts, Tommy Hilfinger and a new one in stores this September by Ryan Seacrest ( Ryan Seacrest Distinction ).
There was music paired with fashion with platinum white wigs to the tune of Blondie and swimsuit trunks to Queen; also, there was a Hello Kitty dance routine for the kids.
It was unusual for R&B/pop singer Derulo to be picked as a headliner, with rock being the theme; however, he closed the show with everyone wiggling to his dance songs happily and confetti raining down. Windy City Times spoke with Derulo on the red carpet on how opening for Lady Gaga in the past taught him how to tour and the huge success he's had since with songs such as "Talk Dirty."
Chef Stephanie Izard provided yummy tacos at the after-party and chatted with WCT about her new Bravo show Top Chef Duels premiering this month, stating she thought she would never do another reality show but that this experience was a nice change.
A DJ, cocktails and a photo booth ended the evening on a high note.
For the past 31 years, more than $44 million has been raised to help fight childhood illness, cancer and HIV/AIDS.
