Five people, including two that police described as "men in dresses," were arrested for allegedly robbing a passenger on the CTA Blue Line Aug. 12.

Of those arrested, just two have been charged said Chicago Police News Affairs Office John Mirabelli.

The robbery occurred at approximately 6:13 a.m. on the 400 block of S. Clinton, said News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien. A male train passenger reported that five people attempted to steal his bike.

"They were unsuccessful but did steal his bag and fled from the train," O'Brien said.

The passenger reported the robbery to police who detained the five.

According to Mirabelli, two of the offenders were described by police as "men in dresses," a common term used by officials to refer to people who often turn out to identify as transgender woman. Of those arrested, three were released without charges.

One of those charged was a 17 year-old, said Mirabelli. Kenneth Brown, 20, of Harvey, Ill. Has also been charged with felony robbery.
