2019-11-30

Greg O'Neill and Ken Miller—the couple who the founded and owned Chicago business Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine—recently closed after 15 years.

In a letter to Pastoral's customers and stakeholders, O'Neill and Miller stated, "Unfortunately, not all dreams are meant to last forever, but that does not mean that they were not worth pursuing. Times, consumer preferences and shopping patterns change and we simply did not have the resources to make the type of changes necessary to sustain Pastoral for another 15 years."

The letter also mentioned the various awards Pastoral garnered over the years—and urged people to hire "one of our talented and dedicated team members. They are truly awesome."

Pastoral Andersonville/Appellation Wine Bar & Restaurant closed October 2018, after three years, so that O'Neill and Miller could concentrate on the core business.
