Identity and Windy City Media Group are proud to be a Global Sponsors of the 2006 Gay Games, coming to Chicago July 15-22, 2006. The Gay Games motto is 'Participation, Inclusion and Personal Best' and this event is for people of all colors—young and old, gay or straight.
On July 15, 2006, don't miss the Opening Ceremny at Soldier Field.
Gay Games VII launches with a spectacular event at the world-famous home of the Chicago Bears. At 8 p.m., 12,000 participants from 70 countries enter the stadium organized geographically to the cheers of tens of thousands. A special surprise is followed by a 2-hour program filled with top talent, amazing dancers and musicians, and heart-stopping moments that will leave you breathless. Megan Mullally, Jody Watley, Margaret Cho, Greg Louganis, Holly Near, Frankie Knuckles, Broadway's Avenue Q, Staceyann Chinn, Nedra Johnson, Holly Near, Mayor Richard M. Daley—the list of entertainers is phenomenal, and more surprises are still to come. Only one other Chicago event this summer will compare to the Opening Ceremony—and that will be the Closing Ceremony at Wrigley Field.
Tickets are $50 to $150 and available at Tickets.GayGamesChicago.org and all TIcketMaster outlets.
On July 22 at Wrigley Field , Chicago bids farewell to the world, but not before an amazing and emotional event at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs. An opportunity to be part of an event at historic Wrigley Field will be enough for many people. But the entertainment line up is astounding. Cyndi Lauper, BETTY, Kristine W, Levi Kreis, Ubaka Hill, Ari Gold, Jason & deMarco, Sharon McNight and many more will help Chicago celebrate the end of an amazing eight days. You will also bear witness to the solemn and joyful transition of the symbols of the Gay Games from Chicago, host of Gay Games VII, to Cologne, Germany, host of Gay Games VIII in 2010. Closing Ceremony begins at 3 pm and something tells us that the post-ceremony party in Lakeview might just rival the ceremony itself. Tickets are $50 to $90 and are available at Tickets.GayGamesChicago.org and Tickets.com .
