GLBT documentary film series begins with Gen Silent

The GLBT documentary film series begins with Gen Silent, Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, 2:30 pm, in the Veterans Room on the second floor of the main library.

A generation of LGBT people who fought for acceptance and equality are being forced back into the closet by an insensitive health care system. Director Stu Maddox will speak after the screening. PFLAG will host.

This documentary film series is focused on the many aspects of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered life. Film historian Doug Deuchler will MC. Cosponsored by the Illinois Gender Alliance, the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance, Integrity, Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association, and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
