An evening fundraising dinner and information program to benefit Chicago LGBT Asylum Support partners ( CLASP ) will be held Saturday, January 28th at 5 p.m. at the home of Andy Thayer. The suggested donation is $35.
About CLASP:
The Chicago LGBT Asylum Support partners provides direct aid - housing, local transportation, support in a new culture and other necessities - to LGBT asylum seekers in Chicago fleeing anti-LGBT discrimination and violence in their homelands.
Life in the United States has never been easy for immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers, but now, following record deportations during the Obama administration, we have a new president elected on an explicitly bigoted, anti-immigrant and anti-LGBT platform.
As the days for foreign-born LGBTs perhaps go from bad to worse, please stand up and be counted as one of those who proudly support LGBT asylum seekers as they begin a new life in the United States.
RSVP to the Facebook link for CLASP. If you cannot attend and would like more information on donating, please make your donation to Broadway United Methodist Church, at 3338 N. Broadway, 60657, with CLASP in the memo.
