An online GoFundMe campaign has been formed to assist Chicago-based entertainer Amy Armstrong after an establishment she helps manage in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was robbed.

According to the GoFundMe site, Armstrong returned to the Palm Cabaret, the Puerto Vallarta nightclub where she is entertainment director, after an engagement on a cruise ship. The morning after her return, she discovered that a safe containing about $28,000 in funds covering future ticket sales as well as one performer's personal money had been ripped from the wall and stolen. Armstrong's funds covering her management expenses were gone as well.

"At this time, Amy can use our support in this traumatic situation," said the GoFundMe site, organized by Kim Joakim Gustaffson. "Currently she only hopes to recoup the money that was for advanced ticket sales for other entertainers, however, I am hoping that we can create a bigger game and show her how much she means to us and the joy she has brought to our lives and our communities."

As of press time, the drive raised just moer than $13,000. To contribute, visit bit.ly/2CjV9Wc .
