Frontrunners/Frontwalkers Chicago, a running and walking club for Chicago's LGBT community and friends ( Frontrunners ) announces a unique training and social program for Spring 2017: The Frontrunners Couch-To-10K Program. Frontrunners will provide free coaching and training from accomplished running coaches, for the people who sign up for an annual membership in the club ( $20 ). The program will culminate in participation in Proud to Run, June 24, 2017.
"Even if you have never run a step, we can train you to cross the finish line at Proud to Run," club president John Bowen said. "Personal achievement, encouragement and friendship have been part of Frontrunners for 35? years, and everyone is welcome."
Frontrunners is holding a membership and kick-off event at Sidetrack, 3349 N Halsted St, Chicago, on April 7, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Frontrunners/Frontwalkers is open to everyone, including people who do not want to participate in this training opportunity. For more information www.frfwchicago.org/ .
WHAT: Frontrunners Couch-To-10k Program
WHEN: Saturdays at 9 a.m. from April 8, 2017 until Proud to Run, June 24, 2017.
COST: Training is free with Frontrunners/Frontwalkers Chicago membership.
Member is $20. Athletes will register for and pay for participation in Proud to Run separately. ( This does not include the registration fee for Proud to Run ).
WHO: Experienced runners, beginners and people who have never tried to do something like this before.
