The list of people challenging Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx for her seat has grown.
Former Cook County Circuit Judge Pat O'Brien ( a Democrat-turned-Republican ) has joined the field. He's the second person from the GOP to do so, joining Christopher Pfannkuche, a challenger from 2016 who lost to Foxx in the general election 72 percent to 28 percent, The Chicago Sun-Times noted.
On the Democratic side, Donna More ( who also ran against Foxx in 2016 ) and former Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Bill Conway have joined the race.
Many candidates have talked about a lack of trust in the office, and mentioned Foxx's handling of the case involving embattled actor Jussie Smollett.
Cook County Democrats have endorsed Foxx for re-election.
