'State of AIDS in Black Chicago' Feb. 17-19
The Black Treatment Advocacy Network (BTAN) Chicago will host "The State of AIDS in Black Chicago: From the Bench to the Bedside" Feb. 17-19 at the University Center, 525 S. State St., 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
The event, among other things, will commemorate National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD). Feb. 7 marks the 15th year for the day, a national HIV testing and treatment community mobilization initiative targeted at Blacks in the United States and the Diaspora.
Among the topics that are slated to be covered are the origins of HIV, immune responses, major scientific discoveries, biomedical HIV prevention and testing.

Chicago House's 'The Tease' Feb. 28
Chicago House presents its second annual burlesque event "The Tease" Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. at Moonlight Studios, 1446 W. Kinzie St.
Producers Keith Elliott and Todd Kiechwho have been behind the events Dance For Life and Chicago Takes Offare behind this show that will feature performances from burlesque, cirque and dance artists, including Jett Adore.

Quare Square open mic on love Feb. 10
Quare Square Collective, Inc., will hold its monthly open mic for queer artists of color and allies Tuesday, Feb. 10, at The Jeffery Pub, 7041 S. Jeffery Blvd.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8:15 p.m. Admission is $5.
Niki Gee and Dionysus DeVille will co-host, with drinks by Smoke and music by DJ Levi.

Drag-king show at Baton Feb. 16
Adair Entertainment is producing the first male-impersonator/illusionist/drag-king show, "Continue the Love," at Baton Show Lounge, 436 N. Clark St.

Disney on Ice presents 'Frozen' thru Feb. 8
Feld Entertainment, Inc., is bringing the Oscar-winning animated feature film Disney's Frozen, to life, in its 34th Disney On Ice spectacular.
Disney on Ice will present "Frozen Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt" through Feb. 8 at Chicago's United Center.
In the event, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse take the audience through the magical story based in Arendelle, with special appearances by Disney princesses and favorite characters from Disney/Pixar's Toy Story and Finding Nemo and Disney's The Lion King.

'Top Chef' casting call in Chicago Feb. 10
Bravo's Emmy- and James Beard Award-winning series Top Chef will return for a thirteenth season in the fall. Casting calls will take place across the country.
In Chicago, the competition will take place Tuesday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Trencherman, 2039 W. North Ave.

International Women's Day Dance on March 7
Chicago groups are bringing back the popular International Women's Day Dance to Chicago, Saturday, March 7, 7 p.m.-midnight, at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, 3015 W. Division St.
The Chicago Foundation for Women ( CFW ) LGBT Giving Council is sponsoring the event, which is open to people of all identities 21 and older.

Driehaus jewelry tour starts Feb. 14
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, 40 E. Erie St., will present the major exhibition "Maker & Muse: Women and Early Twentieth Century Art Jewelry," opening Saturday, Feb. 14.
The exhibition features more than 250 pieces of art jewelry created between the late Victorian period and World War I. "Maker & Muse" is composed of works drawn from the Collection of Richard H. Driehaus and prominent private and public collections throughout the United States.
It will run through Jan. 3, 2016.
Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission ranges from free (for Driehaus members, and children 5 and under) to $20; visit DriehausMuseum.org .
Or Chadash series Feb. 8-March 22
Congregation Or Chadash will host a series, "Journey to Freedom: Pesach and the LGBTQ Experience" that will run Feb. 8-March 22. (It culminates with a communal Seder on May 3 at Anshe Emet, 3751 N. Broadway.)
In each of the eight professionally facilitated workshop sessionswhich will take place in various Chicago and suburban locationsattendees will engage in a process of reflection and discovery to create written and artistic works, some of which will be incorporated into the Haggadah used during the May 3 Seder.
The series is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation, who is interested in exploring the intersection of Jewish and LGBTQ narrative, identity, history and liberation.
