The Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association ( GALECA.org ) hosted its 6th annual Dorian Awards Winners Toast in Los Angeles, a press release noted. Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes and the film's Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Britell took a few questions before the crowd before accepting GALECA's Film of the Year award ( as well as its four Dorian honors ) on behalf of the producers and director/screenplay writer Barry Jenkins. Ricky Martin recently appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, according to a press release. In talking about his 8-year-old twins, Martin said, "Everything that I do, every decision that I make is based on themis based on their well-being. That was a commitment that I made when I decided to become a father. And they are a little bit like my religion because, they don't know it, but they're like little life-savers. Because once again, when I have to make a decision, whatever that decision is, I think of them and it turns out to be the right decision."

Out gay The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper shared on Instagram that he had a heart attack two weeks ago, CNN reported. Harper has said in the past that his family has a history of heart problems. Regular exercise can reduce your risk of heart problems and help you live longer, but family history also plays a key role in heart health. The experienced fitness trainer and TV star has appeared on 17 seasons of the NBC show The Biggest Loser show since 2004.
Jodie Foster and Michael J. Fox led an anti-President Donald Trump protest two days before the Oscars in Los Angeles, BBC News noted. The United Voices rally was staged by Hollywood's United Talent Agency instead of its usual pre-Oscars party. Foster, a double Oscar winner, said she rarely spoke out in public but that it was now "time to show up." Fox told the crowd "we are the lucky ones" and that he wanted to "share a bit of that luck" with refugees who want to enter the United States.
At the Independent Spirit Awards, which took place Feb. 25, Moonlight wasn't the only LGBT film recognized. According to The Observer-Reporter, The Cassavettes Awardwhich honors the best feature made for less than $500,000went to Andrew Ahn's Korean gay-immigrant drama Spa Night. Ahn spoke about his parents' acceptance of their gay son and the need for acceptance of immigrants, LGBT people and other communities.
Almost 24 hours after the Best Picture Oscar was awarded to La La Land instead of the true winner, Moonlight, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences released a statement apologizing to those involved in the error, Deadline noted. Deeply regretting the mistake, the Academy saluted the "tremendous grace they displayed under the circumstances." PricewaterhouseCoopers, who issued a second apology just minutes before, took full responsibility for the mistake.
Tig Notaro has signed with ICM Partners, Deadline noted. The actress, writer and producer created the critically-praised Amazon series One Mississippi, inspired by her life, in which she stars and executive-produces; the half-hour show was recently renewed for a second season. A documentary about Notaro's life, entitled Tig, premiered at Sundance and then on Netflix in 2015.
Reality-TV star/real-estate mogul Todd Chrisleywhose flamboyant style has sparked many rumors about his sexual orientationknows there is lots of speculation that he is gay, and is fine with that, CNN noted, citing a radio interview on The Domenick Nati Show. At one point, Chrisley said, "I don't believe [being gay is] a choice that you make. I believe that you are the way that God has made you." This newest TV season has its swiftest cancellation, as CBS has pulled midseason legal drama Doubt from the schedule effective immediately after two low-rated airings, according to Deadline. On March 1, a repeat of Bull will air in Doubt's slot; the following Wednesday, March 8, Criminal Minds: Beyond Border will take over the hour where the spinoff originally launched last spring. The legal drama made TV history as the first broadcast series with a regular transgender character played by a transgender actor, Laverne Cox.
Erasure's 17th studio album, World Be Gone, will be out May 19, a press release noted. World Be Gone is the follow up to 2014's The Violet Flame, and follows the band's recent 30th-anniversary celebrations. Jefferson Airplane and Starship singer Grace Slick revealed in an op-ed that all the money she received from Chick-fil-A using "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" in a Grammy night commercial will go toward an LGBQT-rights organization, according to Rolling Stone. In the Forbes op-ed, Slick admitted that she was initially against allowing the fast food chain to utilize Starship's 1987 hit because of the company's position on same-sex marriages. Slick changed her mind on the ad, reveling in the idea of donating her paycheck to Lambda Legal.
Singer and songwriter Holly Miranda announced the release of "Midnight Oil," a single to benefit Standing Rock, which premiered on People.com, a press release noted. The song was recorded over the course of two months, with her band from Brooklyn as well as a 28-person choir. Those 28 friends include guest artists such as Ani DiFranco, Kyp Malone ( TVOTR ), Ximena Sarinana and Sasheer Zamata ( SNL ), to name a few. The song was originally released in 1978 by Cris Williamson on a record called Lumiere.
Six New Yorkers' exploits were recently documented for the reality series Fire Island, produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, according to Unicorn Booty. Slated to be on Logo later this year, the series follows "a group of young, New York City professionals who leave behind the stress of their big city lives and escape to the magical sun-soaked oasis that is Fire Island Pines."
Kristen Stewart is in final negotiations to star in 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment's Underwater, which is expected to go before the cameras next month, Deadline reported. The film, which William Eubank will direct, is about an underwater scientific crew who suffers a life-threatening earthquake that forces to take measures for survival. Stewart will star as Nora, a courageous and strong woman who is a bit more jaded and hardened than other crew and ends up in a relationship with another member of the crew.
Beyonce will not perform her headlining set at Coachella 2017 due to her pregnancy, Pitchfork reported. Beyoncé's decision came "following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months." She will now headline Coachella 2018.
German head designer and creative director of Chanel Karl Lagerfeld recently told WWD that Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep cancelled a gown after ordering it to be made, allegedly saying, "We found somebody who will pay us," E! News noted. Lagerfeld said Chanel has a policy of not paying people who wear its designs, adding, "A genius actress, but cheapness also, no?" Streep's rep said the story was "completely untrue," adding that the star "would NEVER wear anything in exchange for payment."
Fox series Star has been renewed for a second season, according to Deadline. Empire, Lethal Weapon and Lucifer have also been renewed; the four early drama renewals leave on the bubble big-budget DC series Gotham as well as low-rated freshmen Pitch and The Exorcist and sophomore Scream Queens. Star's cast includes Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Brittany O'Grady, Ryan Destiny, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson released the first trailer for Rock and a Hard Place, a documentary about a four-month Miami boot camp aimed at rehabilitating young criminals, Rolling Stone noted. The film, executive produced by the Rock, will focus on 38 felons who take part in the Miami program, which has an "unprecedented" success rate when it comes to convicted criminals staying out of trouble following the arduous boot camp.

Rapper/designer Kanye West is taking cues from his 19-year-old sister-in-law Kylie Jenner and branching out with a beauty brand, the Independent reported. Officially re-entering the public eye following a break from the spotlight, TMZ reported that West has officially filed legal documents "declaring his intention" to launch a full collection of Donda cosmetics. The line, which is thought to involve everything from makeup and perfume to lotions, will be an extension of the far-reaching communications company he named after his late mother, Donda, who passed away in 2007.

Lionel Richie says he won't recover from a knee procedure in time to launch his tour with Mariah Carey next month, according to Page Six. The 67-year-old singer said in a statement y that their All The Hits Tour will be postponed until the summer. The 35-date trek was supposed to launch March 15 and conclude May 27.
Actress Shannen Doherty ( Beverly Hills, 90210; Charmed ) is waiting to find out if she's conquered cancer after completing chemotherapy, Page Six reported. "#fbf to this morning… not that long ago," she captioned an Instgram photo of herself resting in bed, "Last day of chemo. Exhausted. Now that I'm done with chemo and radiation, the waiting game is here." The news of the Doherty's breast-cancer diagnosis was first revealed in a lawsuit filed against her former business managers in 2015.
